I like when the news media is reporting on a serious event and out of nowhere switch to an over the top Spanish accent just for a single word. Nobody ever used to do that now they all do. And that I can never forgive.

shareI know what you mean. If a reporter naturally speaks with a Latino accent that's one thing. But when a native English speaker keeps on saying the word 'Nicaragua', or the names of various officials, exactly the way they're pronounced in Spanish, it's distracting and silly. Why do they do that?
shareI gotta tell you, I saw that video and was highly insulted. Those that know me well that's not easy to accomplish.
Her speech was basically black-face by words.
I don't know if her trying to do a "black" dialect was more insulting or the fact that she mentioned all menial jobs to her black audience.
Racism by low expectation.
