Why do they always have to believe in "god"?

Owens and Walsh tackled popular BS leftist narratives brilliantly in their respective films. Then they go take a turn in the punch bowl by singing about their non-existent bearded sky fairy.

Delusion should be called out across the board.

reply

Why does that bother you so much?

reply

Atheism is trendy.

reply

What's the alternative?

reply

For grown adults to acknowledge that the bearded sky genie was just another fairytale?

reply

What about society as a whole?

Fairy tales has a purpose.

reply

Sure. I'm fine with schools cherry picking the Bible, making the nice bits part of the curriculum... then telling everyone god is imaginary before they hit high school.

As I said, I'm not big on delusion, whether it lives on the left or right.

reply

Delusion as in the bearded sky genie? Are forces of nature (higher power) imaginary? Fairy tales are stories/advice/knowledge passed down from generation to generation on what works/doesn't work.

reply

We're not all five-year-olds. A smart person can take the advice, but acknowledge that the silly stories and characters are not real.

reply

Are all people smart persons?

reply

People like you who don't believe in God, will believe when you die one day and face Judgement.. Then and only then will you finally believe..

reply

This must be the love of Christianity I hear so much about. Bend the knee or burn.

reply

What about people who think that you are the one living in the delusion? Should they call you out?

reply

Those guys are the one asserting the existence of something (beardy sky fairy). The onus is on them to provide compelling evidence of this strange, floaty fella.

reply

That's not what I asked. They are asserting the existence of something, and you are asserting that they are wrong. For people who believe that you are the one living in the delusion, should they call you out?

reply

So if someone tells me there's a bunch of invisible pigs floating above me, and I refuse to believe it, I'M delusional? That's not how burden of proof works. You know this.

reply

You keep shifting away from the question about whether others should call you out if they think you are delusional. You have your own reasons as to why you think Matt Walsh and Candace Owens are "delusional", and many others may think the same about you. My question isn't about the veracity of your views or their views; rather, it is about whether any person may be called out if others think he is delusional.

reply

You aren't making sense. You can use all the mocking terms you want, but when it comes down to it, you're just as delusional to them as they are to you. You can't disprove what they believe anymore than they can prove it. They believe, you don't. This is utterly different than the sort of narratives she dismisses, as she does so in a factual manner. She calls out those who say provably false things.

reply

Yup, their claims are unfalsifiable. Like with Santa Claus. The tooth fairy. The flying spaghetti monster. The various ghouls and ghosties who will allegedly be out in full force tomorrow night, for Halloween.

reply

Except no one takes those other things seriously. Whether or not you believe in some higher power/creator/god/whatever doesn't mean they don't. It's a matter of faith, which is completely different than an argument on, say, the history of the slave trade.

And if you're so secure in what you think why the need to insult anyone that believes differently?

reply

Where are the insults?

reply

Ridicule then. And the point stands. Why the heat bro?

reply

Why do you atheists feel the need to proselytize so much? Compensating for that emptiness in your soul?

reply

No "souls" either, brah.

reply

Delusion should be called out across the board.

Kinda like the delusion that men can become women, or vice versa, right?

reply

Yes. I mentioned that in the original post.

reply

You have about as much Spiritualism as a stick..
