Probably wanted this pandemic to happen
...so he kills a few thousand of his people, so what? They killed millions in the 60s. Not to mention the millions before that.

shareHuman life is pretty cheap in Asia, particularly in crowded countries like China, India, Japan, and South Korea.
One reason he let his scientists release it might have been to either study the effects of the virus on his own people, treating the Wuhan district like a real-life, giant petri dish, or he did it to make the Hong Kong protests stop. Either way, this virus is working in his regime's favor.
It won't work in its favour when the global community sanctions China for causing such economic and social upheaval.
Yes! And that's happening in which alternate universe?
NOBODY is ever going to sanction, punish or take measures against these fuckers, no matter the fact that their barbarian practices (eating wild animals) or political villainy (they covered up and hid this disaster till it was too late, + false reporting) have caused the pandemic.
China is too big and powerfull, you have the same chances of sanctioning USA for the 2008 crisis: they caused it, others payed the price, they never got a punishment for it, never will.
only us, the consumers have the power to punish them........ don't ever buy chinese again

China's economy was in a slump before this happened, then they had to slam the brakes like we are and shutting down the economy. It doesn't make sense. Even though it's a communist government, they are still a little afraid of the people.
In addition, this exposes China's questionable food inspections (OK, none) and, more importantly, will allow Trump to push for huge reductions on the U.S. dependence on critical medications and equipment.
This pandemic is a lose/lose for China.
