Gaetz out as AG.

Matt Gaetz withdraws his bid for attorney general amid sexual misconduct allegations

Former Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., on Thursday announced that he would withdraw his name from consideration to be President-elect Donald Trump's attorney general.

Gaetz's path was mired by a series of allegations of sexual misconduct, including sex with a minor at a 2017 party. On Thursday, NBC News learned from a source familiar that the House Ethics Committee, which had been investigating Gaetz, was told that a 17-year-old girl had two sexual encounters with the then-congressman at the party.

Will Trump select someone even less qualified now?

reply

Didn't seem to.

But someone needed to have done even a cursory vetting of that overgrown snot, Gaetz. The girl in question lied about her age, and it was Goetz's friend who was really the sex trafficker. But does any of that sound remotely savory? On top of that, yes, he's made a lot of enemies on the Hill by being a class A jerk. If I know it, why didn't Trump know it?

reply

Trump knew it. He just wanted to distract you with Gaetz, and once again (and as usual), he succeeded.

reply

Trump's playing chess while Leftists are playing checkers and chuckling to themselves in their little bubbles. They're busy thinking they're making a difference with random posts on Facebook and Reddit while having no desire to understand people in the rest of the country.

reply

Do you have a desire to understand Leftists?

reply

People are getting too cocky after the election. I dont like it.

reply

Pretty easy because I used to be one.

reply

So who is going to be distracted from the fact that Gaetz was a possible rapist as long as someone else trafficked the girl to him? As far as I know, the defense of "I didn't know she was underage" is not a defense for child rape.

Of course Trump knew all of this stuff. If he was that clueless, he has no business being president. "Trump the rapist" has no problem with surrounding himself with other rapists.

reply

Notice how when anyone is brave enough to go against the establishment, they suddenly get hit with a bunch of accusations.

reply

Which accusations are you talking about? Trump proudly claims that he enjoys sexually assaulting women as a perk of wealth. You really think that will not come back to bite him in the butt?

reply

Matt is a great American.

reply

Specifically, what did he do that was actually great?

reply

Matt Gaetz posting on MoronChat!

reply

Trump doesn't vet. He doesn't read research. He doesn't think. Everything's a gut decision based mostly on what his cult like following will like.

reply

He may replace Rubio's Senate seat.

reply

The ethics report is released.

From at least 2017 to 2020, Representative Gaetz regularly paid women for engaging in sexual activity with him.
In 2017, Representative Gaetz engaged in sexual activity with a 17-year-old girl.
During the period 2017 to 2019, Representative Gaetz used or
possessed illegal drugs, including cocaine and ecstasy, on multiple occasions.
Representative Gaetz accepted gifts, including transportation and lodging in connection with a 2018 trip to the Bahamas, in excess of permissible amounts.
In 2018, Representative Gaetz arranged for his Chief of Staff to assist a woman with whom he engaged in sexual activity in obtaining a passport, falsely indicating to the U.S. Department of State that she was a constituent.
Representative Gaetz knowingly and willfully sought to impede and obstruct the Committee’s investigation of his conduct.
Representative Gaetz has acted in a manner that reflects discreditably upon the House.

So, does this make him a RINO or a real Republican?

reply

Ironically being a pedo makes him more qualified to be a Trump attorney general.

reply

Ephebophile confirmed, among other things...Is anyone really surprised?

It's hilarious how they released the report anyway, because he obviously resigned from Congress in the hopes that they wouldn't!

reply

As soon as he resigned he may as well have put a big neon sign on his head saying, "You know that stuff you've been hearing about me? It's all true!"
