also known as ear muffs? I'm starting to think it's a subtle homage to her mom being Princess Leia, bun-hair and all.

It fascinates me that no one in the show thinks it is odd that her character wears it all the time.

My thoughts as well, a little Princess Leia anyone? Lol. It's a little weird but she pulls it off well enough that I actually like it! Haha
