A stand out in The Martian
I've never seen her in anything until the Martian. She has the intangible quality that draws your eyes and attention. I'm betting she is in the early stages of a great career.

shareI thought they over used her and got sick of seeing her face when her character added nothing to the second half of the movie.
shareI liked her too
shareI have to agree that her character felt like nerd-boner fuel.
It worked. Very well, I might add.

I really have to agree. I just do not understand how anyone could rightfully justify casting her to The Martian. And whats up with the black nail paint in the movie. To me she really stood out in a bad way, and would not be someone I would have seen in this type of movie as a satellite communications operator.
Someone must have been doing someone a favor to get her in. Hollywood works in strange ways sometimes.
I liked her
shareI disagree with this completely I thought was a standout in a good way. She's a vary talented actress and I'm glad they decided to give her a shot in a big movie like this.
Something like the black nail paint isn't a decision actors make, the director/make up department handle that stuff.
