Why would Matt Damon wanna be James Bond when he is Jason Bourne?

Yep!! Jason Bourne kicks ass over James bond. . And I'm British! !

I always assumed Hollywood does this so viewers (mostly American) don't associate Spider-man with a prejudged persona of an American actor...so you see Spider-man/Parker on screen, not the actor. If they said it was Shia LaBeouf, people would already think "weirdo" or whatever before they even see him don the costume (see Ben Affleck as Batman).

Just a guess.

yeshewa acting is about being able to act, being believable and convincing to the audience.

I'm sure Tom Holland wasn't just picked for his looks, but his ability to act like an American.

Why another British kid playing an American Superhero? The major reason for this is a lot of Americans like British actors. They sell movie's, a lot of Americans love Harry Potter, James Bond.

So there is a lot of interest in British artists, but again nationality doesn't mean anything in the acting world. It's how you present yourself as an actor, and if someone wants you to put on an accent, and you manage to be convincing then you will get the part.

Obviously Tom had the connections and his audition must have really impressed the filmmakers. So we have to give the guy a chance to prove himself.

Another British actor playing Spider-Man with another indie director at the helm. I really hope they're not making the same mistakes twice. It's been too long since we've had a good Spider-Man movie.

It has happened so much lately. Wolverine, Rick Grimmes, House MD, either there are no more good American actors, or Hollywood has gotten tired of them.
