At NABJ, Trump's blatant racism and disdain for talented Black women left me appalled

Donald Trump’s disdain for Black Americans was on full display Wednesday at the National Association of Black Journalists conference.

ABC News correspondent Rachel Scott, one of three moderators on the panel who questioned the former president, told the audience that PolitiFact would fact-check the interview in real time. The audience cheered. And the fact-checkers certainly earned their pay Wednesday in trying to keep up with all of Trump's lies.

Scott addressed the elephant in the room with her first query for Trump: “A lot of people did not think it was appropriate for you to be here today. ... Why should Black voters trust you?"

Scott challenged Trump about lies he has told about political opponents: “You have pushed false claims about some of your rivals from Nikki Haley to President Barack Obama, saying that they were not born in the United States, which is not true."

She cited other outrageous attacks and false claims Trump has made, including his description of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, who successfully prosecuted the Republican nominee on felony charges for falsifying business records, as an "animal."

Trump's disdain was evident from the start of the interview.

“Well, first of all, I don't think I've ever been asked a question in such a horrible manner, a first question," he answered. "You don't even say hello. Who are you?"

Fake news. He only called out the one that showed disdain for him. He was very cordial with the other 2 hosts. And he is right, she was rude. They invited him there, and her first question was to tell him that many people didn’t think he should be there.

Meanwhile Kamala Harris, who everyone is supporting based on her skin color, didn’t show up to support them for theirs.

The black woman doesn’t support a black event, while the “racist” does, and he’s bad guy? Get the fuck out of here with that.

No it’s fake news when the reporting doesn’t match what actually happened. “He showed disdain for the black community” he literally said I love our black population. But you won’t find that quote in a fake news article. Not to mention he showed up for a black event, when 80-90% of them aren’t going to vote for him anyway.

He went after Rachel Scott only after she went after him. He was respectful and cordial with the other 2 hosts.

You know what is Racist though. The expectation that she can talk to him anyway she wants, and he has to show her unlimited respect, because she’s a black woman and he’s a white man.

Since you claimed that Biden was too old and senile to be be president why aren't Trump supporters holding Trump to the same standard?

Because old and senile are 2 different things. There are plenty of politicians older than Biden, such as Nancy Pelosi, and Maxine Waters. Who aren’t considered too old to serve. Trump is held to the same standard, it’s just not the same situation.

The other branches of government are equal in power to the President, and they have members older than both Trump and Biden. So if YOU are dumb enough to boil it down to just age, than it matters.
