I just started watching PLL, I'm currently at the start of the 2nd season. If Shay wasn't such eye candy, I would skip her scenes. Her acting is atrocious and Emily's lack of depth is cringeworthy. I do try to give actors the benefit of the doubt if the writing is sucky.
Does Shay's acting improve later on in later seasons?

shareNot really. I never thought she was a good actress but I think it got worse. Or the show did. I just want to skip every of her scenes. Beauty is not enough, she can't act.

shareI strongly disagree! Sure, she's written as a very likeable character. But I think she pulls off Emily really well! She's shy, yet has a bolder side to her as well. The fact that she's gorgeous makes her insecure and mousy ways a bit less believable. But she's made me develop a soft spot for Emily. Aria on the other hand, she annoys the hell out of me. The girl who plays her can't act. But then again, she's playing a teenage girl. Those can be annoying from time to time.
