Harris sitting down with Fox News for interview?

Conventional wisdom suggests that if a political candidate wants to improve her standing during a race, she must reach out to voters by bringing her message to the people. Harris seems to be doing this by going on a variety of talk shows and interviews recently.

The problem is, when Harris does interviews, she doesn't necessarily improve her image. In fact, she sometimes actually looks worse.

Now, she's going to go on Fox News for an interview. Is this a mistake?

My guess is that it does not help Harris. She's not likely to pick up Fox News voters, and there's a decent chance she said things that people on social media can use against her. After all, Brett Baier will likely be asking her tougher questions than....Stephen Colbert(!).

Every time he asked her a question, she deflected with Trump this and Trump that.

She didn't have the questions prepared ahead of time like she did with the debate and FOX didn't edit and insert answers to make her look competent like the other interview.

That interview is going to cost her some brownie points.

It's just funny that Trump supporters wouldn't shut up about Harris not doing on interviews immediately after suddenly entering the race. Now they are silent as Trump refused debates and interviews and even stops taking questions from friendlies at town halls in favor of swaying to music while looking confused.

Uh, first of all, Trump has been doing interviews. In fact, he's recently done several podcast interviews. He does off-the-cuff question-and-answers all the time.

He's talked about going on with Rogan, who isn't a journalist. Let's see if he shows up before giving him points. I don't think they're is even a date decided on and it's a bit more than 2 weeks to election day.

First of all Trump does hard interviews all the time, he just recently did Bloomberg who hate his guts. Secondly it’s weird that Kamala would attack Trump over his age when Brandon is literally suffering from Dementia and she did not once try to invoke the 25th amendment on him. Trump understands his economic policy perfectly and we had the greatest economy in the history of the country during his administration (and don’t even bother retorting with the economy crashing because of Covid). Then Brandon and Harris came in and totally screwed everything up and now we have the worst economy in the history of the country. If Trump wins I am going to kind of feel sorry for him because he is going to have one hell of a mess to clean up.

You are ignorant about the economy, which right now is the envy of the world and in far better shape even than during the Trump administration.

All Trump did was ride the good things that began under Obama/Biden. They're is not a single positive indicator that changed its trajectory from the Obama years.

You are a gutless liar. Under Trump we had lower gas prices, lower inflation, lower unemployment (even for African Americans who I thought you people claimed to care about). Then Brandon and Kamala came in and completely destroyed all the progress he made. And of course the economy got better under Obummer, it had nowhere to go but up after Dodd and Frank crashed it.

I bet you’re one of those people who is pathetically trying to claim that Cacklin’ Kamala was never the border Czar. So pathetic.

Your graphs don't tell what Trump id to to keep inflation and gas prices low or what did Biden do to undo that.

Those are two measures that, really, a president has no control over, anyway. Every real measure of the economy, from the stock market to employment gains, to GDP, were tracking positively for the whole Obama presidency and did not change their trajectories under Trump. Trump inherited a great economy and tries to take credit for it.

The rightwing economic mouthpiece, The Wall Street Journal, just wrote that the US economy is now doing tremendously well and is the envy of the world. It's actually lifting the rest of the world. Not exactly support for your claim that Biden ruined everything.

The interview was OK, a little too combative from both parties. But honestly, her answers fell a little short. She did bring up Trump a lot. It's odd how the Harris strategy is to act like Trump is the incumbent rather than the challenger. We'll see if this works, but I don't think it's the best route to take.
