Not elected; selected, then anointed

Selected by Biden as his VP then anointed by Biden and party big wigs.

I was really hoping the Dems would have an open election and a mini-primary where Kamala would face other party heavyweights. Had she won, she’d look more legitimate.

But the party would have none of that — too messy, too divisive. And let’s face it, the party would fracture if anyone other than a black woman got the nom. So, we get a coronation.

Well, the party bigwigs stitched things up for Hillary, too, railroading Bernie. How’d that turn out?

You Trumptwats are really running scared now, huh?

reply

You are mistaken SamNoyoun, for I am not a Trump supporter. I am one of the “double-haters” you may have heard of. I’m just the the type of swing voter that will decide this election.

Cool story, bro!

reply

No, the thing is, if she is the nominee, the Biden-Harris committee can keep all the money they have already collected because her name is already on it. Make sense?

reply

There were work arounds. Biden could have donated the money to a Super PAC or created one than would spend it on behalf of the nominee. In any case, Biden was thought to have had only $91 million on hand. Donors gave Harris that much in a few days after Biden endorsed her. They would have opened their wallets for anyone other than Biden who had the nomination.

reply

Yeah, only $91 million. Such a piddling amount. They might as well just give it me.
