The Oscars are thinking about switching to gender neutral acting categories

I would think that anything that would cut the Oscars telecast in half has got to be a good thing, no?

In any case, it would save them some money in statues and in gold plating.

So, just one Best Acting Person, one Best Supporting Acting Person? That cuts the number of nominees and winners in half. Either that, or they have to contrive some way to still have the same number of nominees, but without acknowledging the horrifying reality that both men and women actually exist.

Can't wait for those Hollywood woke idiots to create a man-only category and kick out women in the name of equality. It's hilarious. Maybe then they will learn something?

Just remember that Best Actress category exists since the creation of Oscars. Even back in 1929 they respected women.

To understand how "gender neutral categories" work at the Oscars - just look at Directing and Screenplay categories. Men win them like 95% of time.

So instead of women having 10 nominations in Best and Supporting and 2 Oscar wins every year - they will start getting like 3-4 nominations and zero wins. And men will have 6 nominations and 2 wins.

Of course woke idiots and press will whine, scream and demand for women to be presented more. Like they do with Directing category. But voting is anonymous and when Oscar CEO will count the numbers - male actors will have majority of votes. And then male actors will win.
