Will be receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, 2024 inductee. ⭐🎬

Seems a bit early? I've always thought this was reserved for people who are 'legends' and have been active for decades but seems like I'm incorrect in my asusmption.

She's an absolute darling and deserves it. My favorite actress right now... maybe ever!

P.S. this article has a major goof. Chadwick Boseman died in 2020 not 'earlier this year'.

Gal Gadot will receive a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame, the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce said on Monday. She is the first female Israeli actor to be so honored.

Gadot, who is considered the most successful Israeli actor in Hollywood, will be one of 31 film industry professionals to achieve the star in 2024. Her “class” included Chadwick Boseman, who died earlier this year, Michelle Yeoh, Gwen Stefani and Ottis Redding, to name a few.

President Issac Herzog tweeted "You were always a star," when he heard the news

Gadot's star will join the 2,730 others already on the Walk of Fame, a popular tourist must-visit site in Los Angeles. Every year 200 names are put up for consideration by fans, from the categories of film, television, radio, music and theater.

I like her, but I think it is too soon. She doesn't deserve it, at least as of yet.

reply

Agreed.
She was really sexy and cool as Wonder Woman but it’s a bit early for her to be of note.

In any event, who really cares anyway. That ‘Walk Of Fame’ probably leads into a sketchy alleyway by now unless there are thousands of sidewalks in Hollywood.

reply

She's done nothing to deserve it. Not a fucking thing.

reply

The old proverb must be changed to 'a star is born every minute'.

reply

Seriously? I like her but this feels a bit premature.

From what I've read online the way this whole thing works is people are put forward for consideration and have to pay $75 thousand if approved to have the star made and placed on the walk.

So it's merely a matter of the 'Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce' selecting a few of the ones put forward for consideration. She's likely one of the more famous people in this years submissions, so it's largely a forgone conclusion from what I hear. If you're rich and famous and want one you can get one (they can reject people of course and likely would if the person in question had some major controversy, the approval aspect also prevents any Tom, Dick or Harry with $75 thousand to spare from paying for his own star.)

So it's not like a council of people sat down and decided Gal Gadot needs a star on the Walk of Fame. Rather someone has put her forward and will be paying for it... people suspect her publicists. She has a new Nexflix movie coming out in august, Heart of Stone, so it's good PR and gets people talking.

Still good for her, she's a doll.
