Her role on Spartacus

I love the character of Naevia on Spartacus (Encore). She plays it well with her flawless facial expressions. IMO she is one of the reasons I watch.

Her natural beauty and skin tone is exceptional. I hope she has a great future acting in hollywood and gets more big screen opportunities.

Well she's leaving the show. They're recasting her character for season 2. I will no longer be supporting an actor who doesn't respect her work or fans. It's *beep*

I was very saddened to read that she won't be back for season 2. Bad enough Andy had to be recast (which is fine since he is sick), but come on girl, this show gave you a fan base! At least wait until it ends! Who cares about 'CSI: NY!?'

Look at this way dude, if you were a supporting cast member of Spartacus being offered a higher paying job with a recurring role on a notable U.S. show, wouldn't you want to try that out?

I mean I enjoy Lesley's performance as Naevia, but if she wishes to try new things for her career, then more power to her. It doesn't mean she's disrespecting her fans or the show.

It is actually. She's leaving a two year role (S:Blood and Sand/S:Gods of the Arena) unfinished. If she planed on leaving after season 1 than OKAY but she decided to come back for the prequel also. She should honor her role and stick with it. Yes, there have been bumps in the road and a long waiting period because of Andy but she signed on to play this character. You don't just back out of it. Now they have to replace her with a different actress. That's unprofessional IMHO.

season 2 is so not going to be the same now! two main characters being replaced.

I wouldn't say that. They have a great supporting cast to help transition the change. The show was never really just about Spartacus anyway and Lesley-Ann's character was minor so I think the show will do just fine.

She wasn't minor to Crixus.

I don't think it had to do with the wait, I think it was because they asked her to do the prequel that her and her management started to get the feeling she is irreplaceable. They already know shes one of the more popular eyecandy of Spartacus, they probably felt she could leverage for more money for this contract renewal.

I think she was the hottest girl on the show, and I love her chemistry with Crixus, but its a bit of a selfish move. 2 seasons, not even 20 episodes, and its your first hit show, and you think you are big enough to make contract demands? Beautiful but dumb as hell. Or conceited as hell. This all seems to be encouraged by her management, so it seems she has dumb management too. I don't think shes going to make it far either.

However, I do think she and/or her management is right. I think the show is going to take a hit from this. They already had to replace the MAIN actor, now they had to replace one of their most popular eyecandy, will the fans welcome all the change? To top that off, they face their first season without the awesome character of Batiatus. I think the ratings/dvd sales are going to take a plunge, and they'll be forced to wrap up the series in 4 or 5 seasons before facing the risk of cancellation.

Oh and the new Naevia is ugly compared to Leslie Ann Brandt.
