shareThe key word is "Nepotism". Learn it. Embrace it. You will feel a lot happier as soon as you do. Such is Hollywood. Such is life. We hate it, as common folk... But at the same time, we can't escape it. I dare you to look up your favourite top 10 actors/actresses.... The challenge is to find the one's that aren't connected in any nepotistic way...

I actually can think off at least ten actors who are where they are because of their own merit and not because of connections. But technically she's not Hollywood royalty, she does come from a prominent acting family obviously.
shareUm, Charlie Chaplin (and the Chaplin name of course) is one of the most famous names in the history of modern film, and very rightfully so -- Chaplin was obviously well-known around the world for his on-screen characters, but he also directed dozens of films (defining the comedy genre in film), established the careers of other famous actors, produced, and was one of the founding members of United Artists. It is safe to say that the Chaplin name would STILL open many doors in Hollywood. That of course does not mean that Oona is "without talent" or whatever else is being claimed. Her mother was a fine actress, her grandfather was an absolute genius -- I suspect that she inherited a generous portion of the family gene pool.
"I love those redheads!" (Wooderson, Dazed and Confused, 1993)
OH EMMA JEAN!!! I didn't know she was Charlie's granddaughter! The entire family literally exists to act. Her mother is sooooooooooo talented! But so is this girl and her looks are not overrated, she really is gorgeous.

I AM DEE BEE -- 10 years !
Looking at her CV she has chosen a low profile high quality approach to her career and she is good in just about everything she in, and she appears to be smart and beautiful and the same applies to her mother. Was surprised to see her in The Crimson Field (the first show was very good).
shareI'm watching 'Powder Room' right now and - OMG! This woman is outrageously gorgeous! I like everything about her. Do not forget that she graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. Ergo, she WORKED for her position in Hollywood. I don't believe her last name has as much to do with her success as some people are saying. She's talented and so nice to look at. Every time she is on the screen, I just can't look away. As soon as I'm done here, I'm going to get some more movies she's in. Her success is due to her talent and beauty, and lots of hard work, I'm sure.
In 'Powder Room', they just got to the scene where she's talking to the girl with the wine-stained pants (about 6 minutes into the movie and worth the watch). Oona has the most beautiful smile! In these days of pimped-up girls like Kardashian or train wrecks like Lohan, it is so nice to see a woman as naturally beautiful and (I have no doubt) good-natured as Oona.
If you can't tell, I am newly a BIG fan of hers. Next time you start thinking she's where she is because of her last name, just watch her in something. See how talented her acting is and - I hope most of you agree with me - how perfectly beautiful she is.
