Gemma as Lara?

Sorry if this has been mentioned before but I had a crazy idea after seeing what direction the new Tomb Raider game has gone. I haven't played it but with the gritty, dark story and look, why not get Gemma to play Lara Croft.

They've certainly toned down the extremity of her digital curves and given a short amount of time i'm sure Gemma could get in shape for the roll. I mean she is gorgeous, can look tough and that accent is perfect. Would much rather see her do it than lets say Megan Fox...

Just a thought.

No! She's too cursed to do a Tomb Raider movie justice. The video game adaptation genre needs saving (like the comic book adaptation genre) and that sort of casting will not go down well at all.

Cursed?

Yeah, every film I have seen that involves this girl SUCKS. Or, just isn't very good. For example, Quantum of Solace, Clash of the Titans, St Trinian's 1 & 2, Prince of Persia, Hansel and Gretel, RocknRolla, Tamara Drewe etc. you get the point. She's probably an OK actress. But, seriously, this girl is cursed to turn a film bad.

Can't say I didn't like Prince of Persia or Hansel and Gretel but I respect your opinion. I was merely pointing out that Lara Croft's story has been given a very strong reboot and a new movie won't be far off. Tomb Raider doesn't need a superstar in the lead roll, it's already got millions of fans as it is...

That said, if they made a new movie in the style of the new game, it'd be hard not to give it a strong age restriction.

Camilla Luddington did a good enough job. Might make more sense casting her... the only problem is that she's spend way too much time in America and is picking up a slight accent which came through from time to time in the game.

Right on the money Pesty! Gemma would make a great Lara Croft, I didn't think of this until I read it. The resemblance is perfect. After seeing her perform in Hansel and Gretel she would be a natural fit for the role.

I hadn't thought of Gemma as Lara Croft. She'd be perfect!

I have to agree! Gemma as Lara would be so perfect! I have seen her in many movies and when I saw Hansel and Gretel I saw a new side of her where she kicks ass and so she could absolutely play Lara!

Yea I can't believe I didn't think of her, she would be a good choice for the new Lara they're going for. She's young, has the body type, the acting skills, and her accent is perfect.
