Disney is notoriously controversy-averse, and wants to use the actors who work for them as part of carefully coordinated publicity campaigns. Actors who won't play the Disney game are usually quietly put on a shit list rather than fired (like I said they do want to avoid controversy), Carano is the exception because she put everything out in front of the public and gave them the choice of firing her or seeming to condone blatant assholery, and she did it from the very weak position of playing a role that could be written out at any moment.
I'd expected Cara Dune to be quietly written out, I mean she's settled on Navarro and Mando has been spending less and less time there. If he stays involved with Bo-Katan's campaign he's either going in the direction of Mandalore or hauling ass to the far side of the galaxy instead of going back to his old haunts, they had probably planned to quietly ease her out the door.
