Why Do Actors Always Leave Shows Before They End?

It doesn't even appear she has any projects lined up. If I were on a TV show I'd milk that puppy for all it was worth. There's plenty of time to do other things. Usually it's some idiot agent filling their heads with delusions of grandeur about a big movie career but most of the time it tanks.

Actors don't always do that. I know tons who haven't. It feels like the majority don't and that's why people think it's such a big deal when someone breaks the mold and leave.

As for why? I can think of some obvious reasons like they grow bored after playing the same character for years and they like to sink their teeth into something new to be able to enjoy their job again as well as keep improving and challenge themselves. Too many shows goes on for far longer than they should and take a severe dip in quality and that might also factor in.

She hasn't even left the show yet and you're already pointing out that she hasn't anything else lined up. She has been occupied with filming the show so she hasn't even gotten the chance yet. I'm guessing she might take some time off as well to get some well-deserved rest.

She just made the best decision of her life leaving TVD. It's a sinking ship and should have ended this season anyway.

Tell that to Sarah Michelle Gellar. She played Buffy for seven seasons and hasn't had a very impressive career since it ended. Playing the lead on a show for 5+ years is not always a good thing. Sometimes it can lead to people not being able to you as anything but the character that made you famous.

This wasn't a decision she made recently. Nina said her plan from the beginning was to do six seasons and then leave. She played Elena for six seasons and is now ready to move on to something else. There's nothing wrong in wanting to find other successes in your career.

TVD is going downhill, she's a rat fleeing a sinking ship.

I wish she would stay for next season or until the show ends. but thanks for the memories and best of luck to Nina Dobrev and Michael Trevino in finding new characters. I can't hate them for wanting to do other things

Rob Zombie is one of the greatest directors today

I haven't watched many interviews about her reasons as to why she wanted to leave the show. But I know that one of them had to do with the fact that Ian was dating her, I guess she would be considered ex-best friend, Nikki Reid. And I remember reading, I could be wrong, but I do remember reading that she had stated that if Ian and Nikki got married, that she would leave the show. I think it was too hard on her as they had been together previously for 4 and half years, to most people that is like a life time. I, myself wish that it had worked out between them because they did make a cute couple and a lot better couple than he does with Nikki Reid, who I am loathing right now. I am Team Nina. Anyways, that could be it or that she is just tired and just because she has no projects listed on here doesn't mean that she has none coming up.

FYI...actors don't just pick up and leave a show due to personal relationships going bad. There's this thing called a Contract...a legal document that a person is legally obligated to.

I'm sure she left the show because her contract ended and she chose not to renew so that she would be free to do other things.

She has moved on. You should too.

We got used to her in that role, and that is the role we wanted to continue too see in other films/shows at least in my personal opinion. Still liked her in cruel intentions though. She filmed that while she was still on buffy too. Damn she looked sexy in it though i aint gonna lie
