The only plus-size woman doing romantic roles?

I just watched The Hustle. Despite the movie failing to totally captivate, I really enjoyed Rebel playing a romantic lead role. I also enjoyed this in Isn't It Romantic and, to a lesser extent, the Pitch Perfect films.

However, I was trying to think of other films where plus-sized women are leading romantic relationships, or even feature in a romantic relationship. I can't recall Melissa McCarthy being in a romantic relationship in any of her recent films - she has sexual encounters but not really relationships. Beanie Feldstein has a mild romantic moment in her new film, Booksmart, but it's barely touched on.

Rebel also had a romantic relationship in the acapella girl group movies, but as a supporting player.

Queen Latifah has also made a couple of romantic comedies, hasn't she?

I feel like Queen Latifah was the exception, just as Rebel is today. Still, these movies seem to be far and few between.

Fat women don't have much credibility in a romantic role. In general, a fat/ugly woman is gonna be the emergency-plan for a man, and that doesn't fit the 'love at first sight' type of story in romantic comedies.

Eh, there's always room for fantasy romance movies where an ordinary-looking protagonist gets someone totally out of their league.

Although Hollywood makes 999 movies about a shlub getting a hot girl, for every one about a regular girl getting a hot guy.

Judd Apatow, probably. The rest of Hollywood, barely. Try to find some examples of romantic comedies where a schlub gets a a hot girl, and that are not the Apatow ones... and you'll see it's not easy.
