She is big name thanks to the hollywood studios who need a big name for the blockbusters and oscar baits,she is overrated and always over the top in her roles.Glenn Close,Amy Adams and Naomi Watts are far better actresses and they never won a oscar,that is a shame.

And no offense to Amy but a better actress? I've seen most of her roles, including her Oscar nominated and she plays the same person over and over and over again! I have to admit though that I loved her in Junebug and Enchanted! Also nocturnal animals seems promising!

She really stood out and stole that movie. And nothing against Portman but imo she even deserved the Oscar for her amazing performance in Winter's Bone in 2010. Lawrence is one of the best actresses working today and the best of her generation. Amazing, natural talent.
