It goes without saying that she, as a typical White Americna mutt will make herself more "interesting", by claiming one specific non-WASP part.
They'll claim ancestry from a Native American tribe, but it gets disproved by DNA test.
They'll claim Irish descent, but in reality it's Ulster Scot Protestant.

According to one poster Kiernan has 37.5% Irish ancestry which is the largest single component of her ancestry and several posters say she looks Irish as "fuck" whatever that means.
37.5% is not "mostly Irish".
Irish would be the largest component, but still a minority component.
That happens when you're a White American mutt.
She looks British, not specifically Irish.
But that makes sense because she also has English and Scottish ancestry on top of the Irish.

TheApricity - yes I only go there to look at the "classify..." section. I'm interested in ancestry and genetics generally as a layman.
So this is what the guy posted as her ancestry composition:
Ethnicity:
*37.5% Irish
*25% Bohemian/Czech
*12.5% German
*12.5% Italian
*12.5% mix of English, some Scottish, distant French
So right off the bat you can see she has 62.5% Irish, English, Scottish and German ancestry. So that part is about as white as you can get.
Next is 25% Bohemian/Czech so here it depends. Some of these people can look like Southern Europeans with slightly darker skin and others might look quite fair skinned.
Next is 12.5% Italian and again it depends on where in Italy her ancestors came from. North or South or somewhere in between ? There is a big difference between Northern and Southern Italians for example.
The purpose of all that was that when I look at Kiernan I just see a girl of North Western European descent. I don't see this "mutt-ification" you speak of or any sign of Southern European DNA in her at all. A DNA test on her would be quite interesting though.
I'm all for white beauty but she is average at best.

People tend to be more critical of something they are familiar with. So a straight white guy will probably be pickier about what white women he finds attractive, but less so of women he considers exotic.
I'm not white, though I can pass for white to undiscerning eyes, and I don't find her to be particularly attractive.
It could be because I watched Mad Men as it aired, but to me Kiernan Shipka still seems like a child.
I'd consider women such as Phoebe Tonkin or a 1990s Madchen Amick to be beautiful.
So you prefer the mixed race look rather than just white.
Well, my mother's side of the family is white and she remarried a white guy when I was very young. We also lived in area that was predominantly white, so I do find a lot of white women attractive, but I prefer black haired women with olive or light brown skin.
shareI'm white, I guess for me I work on an individual by individual basis. There are some non white women I find attractive and some that I don't just as I don't find all white women attractive. In this case I do not find Shipka to be anything special which does not mean to say I think she is ugly. I just disagree that she is "stunning" or perfect as the OP says. Although he is entitled to his opinion of course.
I agree that she does still look like a child which is maybe one of the reasons I am not that excited by her. I tend to prefer taller, leggy and preferably curvy women.
Yeah, I find some women from pretty much every ethnicity attractive, but I do have a preference for dark hair and naturally lightly tanned skin.
Of the current big stars, I like Gal Gadot.
People seem to be aging much slower these days. Shipka in her early 20s looks younger than I did around 16.
I notice that a lot with older films actors you think are in their 40's or older were really in their late 20's. I used to get into clubs at 16 without needing ID so I agree with that too.
What works for one woman doesn't work for another. You can have a hot chubby woman and another who isn't hot at all for example. I don't really have a "type" as much as I could say that I like tall, fair skinned red heads I could just as easily go for a shorter dark skinned woman if she looked good.
