John Fogerty playing Lead AND Rytyhm Guitar......at the SAME TIME!😎 it don't get much better than that!
Some great drumming from Doug Clifford on the song too!
Big fan of that one.
shareWillie and the Poor Boys (WATPB) is my favorite CCR album, with Green River a close second. The reason is that the lesser known songs on these records, particularly WATPB, are almost without exception unheralded gems. I have in mind the songs "Effigy," "It Came Out of the Sky," "Feelin' Blue," "Cotton Fields," and the instrumental "Side o' the Road." In my opinion, the Rolling Stones drew heavy inspiration from WATPB for their own masterpiece Exile on Main Street. You can legitimately argue that Exile covered more turf, but there are a number of similarities. Listen to Fogerty's relentless rhythm guitar strokes on "It Came Out of the Sky" and compare that to what Keith Richards was doing on songs like "Rip This Joint" and "Happy."
shareWhatever else one wants to say about the Red Dawn remake, the movie's use of the song in one scene of the film was impressive
