We met this little guy in Calgary. Got to watch them film a scene
from this movie and then saw Dakota at the Calgary Stampede this summer.
He is a fabulous little actor and very nice in person. Hope we see him
in more movies.
Acting like a brat isn't acting Did you seriously just state that acting is not acting? The only thing I can think of is that you have had some bad experiences with kids this age and think they're all brats, therefore they are all just that way and not acting at all. If you want to see real child acting watch Super 8. I can't argue against you at all on this. Super 8 is an excellent film with a superb cast.
Performances are like most everything else, they're dependent many variables. An actor can only work with what he/she is given to work. The storyline of Real Steel itself is mediocre. I believe Goyo pulled all he could have out of a film like this. Without Hugh Jackman and him Steel could have easily been a made for TV movie.
