Carrie steps up and sings acapella

It was beautiful as she invited all to join her, thus getting both Democrats and Republicans to sing together in unison.

So they can get the music right for all the other presenters but "America the Beautiful"?? Thank God the woman could sing Acapella

reply

Whatever the cause of the glitch, I thought it became a bit of a disguised blessing. She sang it note for note, allowing attendees to join in.
I do not like when singers 'reimagine' the Star Spangled Banner. It prevents unified singing.

💯

It's wild that the hens on The View were so upset over a performance that barely lasted three minutes.

Well, if this glitch was actually intentional punishment for Carrie daring to sing at Trump's inauguration, she sure turned that around in a hurry. Wow, never a fan but I'm impressed.

reply

You can bet that someone on the audio team has already been told, YOU'RE FIRED!, indirectly from Trump.

After they'd all been standing there for about a minute, a guy walked up to Underwood and said something. Apparently he asked her if she knew the words to the song. Her answer was barely audible, but she said "if I didn't know the words, I wouldn't be here." Then she started singing acapella. Very impressive.

She did an awesome job. It was a beautiful performance!

reply

She looked radiant and unfettered by the sound issue.

reply

I thought so too. And she was in the middle of a crowd, just beautifully singing like she was alone on a stage. I was really impressed by her performance! I know not everyone could have pulled that off like she did.

reply

I only just saw how she did this after obvious technical glitches with the backing track...Very impressive!

reply

I am happy to read a kind post from an anonymous poster who sits on the other side of the aisle.

reply

It is much more impressive than even that in my opinion because she didnt know she was going to have to sing without a backing track.
