David Lee Roth or Sammy Hagar?

I always liked Roth, he was just so much fun.

I actually prefer Gary Cherone.

Just kidding, it's Roth all the way! I do admit that I enjoyed Sammy with the band also.

Hagar was the better singer but my favorite VH songs are from the Roth days. Diamond Dave had incredible stage presence but often sounded like he was doing something other than singing. I say this from the perspective of someone who loves thrash metal so I can enjoy growling and screaming. However, there are some VH tunes where Dave nearly spoils the soup.

The Hagar years were more polished and perhaps a greater % of good tunes but often lacked the raw edge present in previous days (including Hagar's solo, Montrose, and HSAS stuff).

Despite this, I have to say Lee Roth. The ultrasonic H he belts out is signature Halen. Van Hagar is a good but different band.

Roth. You cant even be seriously asking. There is no comparison. Anyone who votes Sammy Hagar can not be taken seriously.

It's a toss up, I think Hagar is the better singer but they wrote better music with Roth.
