So...what exactly happened to him?

After that accident, he was in a coma for a while, had surgery, then his family announced he is in recovery and from that moment there were no more news about his condition. His family kept him locked, the few people allowed to visit him made some very vague statements about his condition, like they were put first to sign a non-disclosure agreement, what exactly is going on with him, why isn't he in public, why aren't reporters allowed to visit him, why is there such a big secrecy about him?

reply

Why not? It's none of your business!

reply

He's a public person, the people want to know, they have the right to find out what happened to him.

reply

He's not a public person. When was the last time you saw him in public?

reply

At the races...He stopped going in public after the accident. Something isn't right here.

reply

People like you are the worst...

reply

He had a severe brain injury and probably lost a lot of functionality. His family is protecting him from the tabloids who will only post exploitative photos of him looking infirm and changed.

reply

They could have at least take him out in public, let the people see him, take photos with him, raise awareness about people with the same condition as him, etc.

reply

Why, they don’t owe that to anyone. His family owe it to him to provide the best care and privacy. He may not even be able to consent to that on his own.

reply

Michael always said his and his family's private life stays private. And his wife has done exactly that.

reply

The guy is in a vegetative state. He can't go out in public or receive reporters. For some reason his family is in denial.

Now I do agree with the other posters that they don't owe any of us anything. However, Schumacher made a lot off money thanks to his fans and his family probably still is, so I think it would be fair to be a little more open about his condition after all these years.

They could still make him available to the general public - open the doors to the house and let people enter and see him - $10 a pop. If they want to take a photo with him - $20. They could also take him on a tour, from town to town, his fans would love this!
His treatment apparently costs millions each year, his family needs to think at alternate ways of making money to cover the huge expenses.

reply

So now you're acting like a troll to save face, huh.🙂

reply

he is worth over $600 million.

reply

he was a very private person before his accident.

reply

he was never in recovery, his family is using his money, to keep him on life support, in private, in their home, as they have every right to do
