Who Would You Consider Her "Contemporaries"?

I know the forum is ending but we might as well have some discussion while it lasts. I may repost this to wherever our new location is if things die down here and this thread doesn't catch on.

So anyway, who are actresses in the same age range who seem to play a similar "type" to her who probably directly compete with her for roles.

From looking at past roles she's been rumored for, she seems to be considered for a lot of the same parts as Emma Watson, Alicia Vikander, Daisy Ridley, Kate Mara, Shailene Woodley, Jennifer Lawrence, Elizabeth Olsen, and Cara Delevingne (for some reason). Not all of those people would necessarily fall into the same bracket as her, though.

I've thought for some time that there's no one quite like her (considering her age) in film today.

Off topic, but have you had a chance to check out any of the options we've posted about as a result of the closing of these boards on 20 February?

Mia Wasikowska, Emily Browning and Chloe Grace Moretz are in the same league as Saoirse. All brilliant with a wide range. However, Saoirse amazes me in anything I see her in.

I wouldn't put any of those in the same bracket as Ronan imo. I probably give if Wasikowska, she can put in a great performance here and there. She's still very one note thought. Browning and Moretz, have potential but don't show it anywhere near enough to be Ronan's league right now.

The names you mentioned, no to Delevingne (she's just the IT girl of the moment), Waston (she's not a good actress and is still only known cause people fancy her and Potter fanbase), Ridley (besides Star Wars, what else has she done) and Mara (you should have said Rooney as she's the younger and more talented sister imo).

Woodley, is very hit and miss and doesn't that stand out performance, Ronan has many of them. Lawrence, she's a bigger star then Ronan, has a Oscar (still don't think she should have won imo), but I think Ronan is the better actress. Olsen, started off pretty well but is now stuck with MCU. Wind River is the last time I've been impressed by her. Vikander, is probably the closet on the list you mentioned that you could put ahead of Ronan as of now. She's got the Oscar and a few amazing performances on her resume.

I add Carey Mullingan and Emma Stone to her contemporaries who at least give her a run for her money.

Quite simply, she has no peer (equal) among young actresses. Note: I said actresses, not movie stars. She could be both, if she wanted, like Jody Foster. I quite like Anna Sophia Robb and Amanda Seyfried in her age group, also Mia Wasamumble. Ronan is in a Shakespearean class of her own: committedly PHYSICAL(Hannah) and vulnerable (Byzantium), she is the complete package; plus SMART and class from head to toe. She will probably stay with indie films and be quite content.

So, contemporaries in terms of occupying the same space in history; but she has no generational equals.
