Very very unlikely. But let's assume that he actually is a better actor than Brando. If he actually is, it's way too early in his career to make that claim. I personally think Brando is a top 5 all time great actor, so I don't think redmayne is as good. But if we assume he is, remember that Brando had several truly iconic and game changing roles, and Redmayne hasn't had any roles yet that are nearly as iconic as some of Brando's. And until he does I don't think he should be seriously compared to Brando, regardless of how great of an actor he is (and I do think he's very good.)
shareAs Graham Chapman would say, that's silly.
Brando was a method actor who infused his charisma into his roles. And he had his share of cinematic turds throughout his career. ER is a character actor from the Olivier school. The two are not congruent. However if he keeps up his current excellence he could, in the long run, achieve the standard set by the great Sir Alec Guinness. That's who he should be compared to.
Acting 101, two heavyweights go at it:

It's hilarious that they gave him an Oscar for The Theory of Everything. Who knew sitting awkwardly in a chair deserves an award.
shareEddie Redmayne is a worthless oscar bait actor.
shareIs this a serious thread? Few can compare to Marlon Brando and he certainly isn't one of them!
shareYou can't compare the 2. Marlon Brando was a brilliant actor. Eddie Redmayne has years to go before he is on that level but he does have potential.
shareMarlon was brilliant. Ditto Eddie. Acting isn't like horse racing. There is never any clear "winner." But--like Brando in his heyday, Eddie is a joy to behold. Long may he reign. 😈
shareHm, I didn't know that Alec Guinness mistook constipated sugary grins for acting.
Plus, Alec Guiness had plenty of charisma from what I gather. And in all cases, comparing Redmayne to either Brando, Guinness or Olivier is indeed silly beyond belief.
PS: The Danish Girl must be the biggest turd of the year. In every respect.
