I remember picking up their self-titled debut and Killers after listening to Number of the Beast.
Both albums are awesome. I liked Paul Di'Anno's vocals and the overall rawness of these recordings.
Anybody else enjoy these albums?
I do enjoy the albums a lot, but I like Bruce’s voice better. The first two seemed a lot closer to punk rock also which isn’t exactly my thing but they are still great.
shareI still listen to both albums often. While Bruce is technically a better singer, I still like Paul's more gritty vocals.
It's a shame they don't play most of those songs live anymore. Same thing with the Scorpions, who ignore their pre-Lovedrive albums in live shows.
i don't dislike the first album but it's not one of my favourites , Killers is definitely better , if it had Bruce at the vocals it would be one of my fav Maiden album.
shareTo me they were more of a punk band on those two albums, they had some prog rock influence here and there but they became metal with Bruce on Number of the Beast. I don't think they would have become as huge if they stuck with Paul.
