That's not a mixed message, it's called being an actor. If anything kids are confused because the adults that are supposed to be guiding them can't even tell the difference between being a good person in real life as opposed to a bad person on a TV show. Not all television shows are Barney or Leave it to Beaver. Good people have to play bad people doing bad things sometimes.
