right, but jen is a better actor by far.....hunger games, silver linings....emma had only done some light work. not much range shown compared to jen, besides jen is not a normal actor, she has a gift, of just jumping into the character in the blink of an eye, that is what the directors and co stars are saying at least

I agree that Emma's performance in La La Land wasn't Oscar worthy at all, I actually think her performance in the Favorite is her best performance to date and more Oscar worthy (she really needs to do more bitchy Villain stuff imo). I don't know why a lot of people get upset about the Oscars, a week after the event everyone forgets who wins and most of the films who do win end up been forgotten about in a few years, aside from the real great movies. With J.Law, it seems like whatever she releases they throw her award noms just to get her on the award shows, as she bring a lot of press with her. I never thought that her performances in American Hustle or Joy were award worthy imo. Still think Winter Bone is her best performance to date, I liked Silver Linings Playbook but I thought J.Law was very good but not Oscar worthy at all.

I think Emma is more consistent with her work over the last few years, not everything she does is success (Aloha for example).
