Her best performances.

Emily Blunt has been a renowned actress for many years now and since her latest The Girl on the Train is about to be released on Wednesday (UK) and Friday (USA). This is the perfect time to reminisce on her finest performances over the years and maybe even point out that she should have won an Oscar for some of those performances. In my personal opinion these are my five favourite performances of hers:

1. The Devil Wears Prada

2. The Young Victoria

3. Looper

4. Edge of Tomorrow

5. Most recently Sicario

Now it's up-to you to judge what other shinning performances she has done.

Oscar? I don`t know. When i see some of the Oscar`s Winners i think Emily Blunt should get an Oscar even for The Muppets.

I know, right? I guess she's not flashy enough for the Oscars and her most recent performances, especially in Girl on the Train were just in movies that didn't have the money to blow the Academy for nominations like all the big studios do.

Does anyone remember Sunshine Cleaning with Amy Adams? I'm tempted to call it a dramedy, but I think it's just the improbable story that makes it seem like it's supposed to be funny. A small film, but probably my introduction to Ms Blunt. I think I've seen Prada but I don't remember her role. Streep and Hathaway innit?

One of Blunts better performances. It's amazing with the talent of Adams and Blunt that it's such a forgotten film. I don't think it works overall as a film, but their performances are both great. It was kinda of made during Blunt's indie film phase, where she wasn't quite the big star she is now.

She's probably delivered her best work over the last few years imo. Turning into a top actress.

I add in films that overall didn't work but her performance alone is worth it

A Quiet Place (2018)- Very good horror, she's excellent in it
The devil Wears Prada (2006)- Her breakthrough into Hollywood, she steals the film from both Streep and Hathaway.
Edge of Tomorrow (2014)- Shows she can be a action star, the film is a action gem.
Sicario (2015)- Del toro steals the show, but Blunt is the heart and soul in the film.
Into The Woods (2014)- The film isn't great, but Blunt is the best thing in it.
Young Victoria (2009)- Probably one of her best earlier performances.
My Summer of Love (2004)- her breakthrough role, probably her darkest performance to date.
Wild Target (2010)- Not one of Blunts better known films, but I love Blunt when she plays a sweet character.
Your Sister's Sister (2011)- Another little seen film during her quiet indie film phase of late 00's/early 10's, another loveable performance.
Sunshine Cleaning (2008)- Amy Adams and Blunt in a film together, and it's totally forgotten. The film isn't great but Blunt is.
Mary Poppins Returns (2018)- The film isn't a touch on the classic first, but Blunt is fantastic in it.

For my top 5 out of those

1. Sicario
2. Young Victoria
3. Edge of Tomorrow
4. My Summer of love
5. The Devil Wears Prada
