She's starring as Gigi on Broadway. It's not a film, but will probably earn her some more respect. She looks great in the promos.

I think her career will make some major strides once Kitchen Sink is released where she plays a pot smoking cheerleader, presuming the film is a hit.
More complex roles that incorporate her cute looks is where career growth lies imo. The 180 degree turn of her more heavy realistic roles lately were too confronting for her fans or admirers. She needs something that's less abrupt with a easier learning curve for this stage of her career.
For example, I haven't watched her more serious films cause I can't deal with it. She's still too much Gabriella Montez from HSM. Nobody wants to see her play a prostitute or a homeless teenage mom or a criminal slut. But I am excited to see her as a pot smoking cheerleader, awesome.

shareLeaked nudes don't have the same impact as they had in the earlier years. The attention span when it comes to those has gotten dramatically shorter since it’s now happened so frequently. I'm a JLaw fan and I barely even remember her nudes.
I like Vanessa but I think she's going to struggle. The competition in her age group is FIERCE and she hasn't really proved herself as a character actor. The trend now seems to be for versatile character actors; it’s not that I don’t think she can do it, but she has not proven she can do it (at the same level as JLaw or Shailene Woodley, etc…)
