I'm not a fan of either as a single, but I'd pick Let it Bleed over Let it Be as an album.
Let it Bleed has Gimme Shelter, You Cant Always Get What You Want, Monkey Man, Midnight Rambler
i tend to agree
shareLet It Bleed is a GREAT album for too many reasons than I can go on about here.
I have no interest in Beatles versus Stones arguments, but Let It Bleed is a massive middle finger not to the Beatles, but to the monolithic importance of Rock Music, which the Stones were mastering at this point in their career.
And yes, a "deep cut" like Monkey Man is a wonderful romp of bluesy musicality and raunchy word play.
I'm a flea bit painted monkey, all my friends are junkies !
I hope you are not too messianic or a trifle too satanic
Love to play the Blues !
I am just a monkey man, I'm glad you are a Monkey Woman too, babe !
It's pretty crazy, but it's melded into this wonderful bluesy, gospel sorta melange or gumbo or whatever.
It's like, well, I like to take drugs ... but not this much ! You guys are way out there, but the music sounds great.
Turning to the Beatles, I like the song Let It Be better than Hey Jude - minority opinion - but it's pretty safe compared to what the Stones were doing, putting all the lifestyle dynamics of these people aside.
I actually like Sticky Fingers if I had to choose a best Stones album, and I think the Beatles had a very different vision for their music, but a lot of what the Stones did had more BALLS than what the Beatles offered.
LET IT BE.
shareI'm a fan of both of these albums.
I love the Beatles more than the Stones but I have to go with Let It Bleed.
Such a great album from start to finish!
A few duds on Let It Be in my opinion.
Not close to either band's best. But Let It Bleed is one rung higher at the bottom of the ladder.
shareNeither.
