What is this BS with Lee going and then not going to Shanghai Comic Con?

Can someone give any reasonable explanation?

Seems like Lee's team never actually confirmed that he will definitely attend it. More like it was a possibility if the schedule will allow. But the organizers of SHCC went ahead and announced that he will attend.

You said this makes me recall one poster here has said that Lee Pace is a bankable name in China in another thread. Please correct me if i'm wrong but i thought Lee Pace himself has never mentioned anything about Shanghai Comic Con. Or maybe things went wrong between his management and the organizers.

It is true, he never said he was coming, but he never said he wasn't coming either. He must have known someone is (ab)using his name to sell tickets to gullible Chinese fans. He should have put a stop to those rumors immediately and spare himself and people who bought tickets some misery.

Like I've said maybe things went wrong between his management and the organizers. None of us really knows what's going on exactly. I was just speculating. One can't just cancel it without proper reason.

You can't know whether he knew or didn't know about it. It's more likely that he knew that he was invited and his team left the door open. Do you actually think he went on website to see how much the tickets cost? He wanted to come, but his schedule intervened and he had to cancel it. It happens all the time. Actors are under contract obligations and some other project mixed up his schedule.

If he didn't know about it and if other scheduled obligation intervened, he should fire his personal assistant. His assistant and his PR have to know everything about his schedule (they're paid to do so) and if he wasn't able to attend that Comic Con they should have put those rumors to rest at once.
My point is: his PR team did LOUSY job and put Lee in conflict with his numerous fans in China for no reason whatsoever. I'm really sad to see such a nice man being dragged down and insulted for something that wasn't his fault, I'm sure of that.
The similar situation happened a while ago with Kids Choice Awards. I think Lee needs to have much better handlers.
