Apparently he thought he'd be the next Chris Evans after doing the first 'Shazam' movie. Politics aside, I don't think he's a bad actor. But that's not what roles he generally played in the stuff I saw him in. He's like the goofball or the comic relief. Even when he's the straight man in something like Tangled, he's still the comic relief.
