Sonys television division has repackaged its Web series Angel of Death as a full-length movie, a new strategy to make Internet productions profitable by airing them on television and by selling DVDs.

The 10-episode action thriller, first shown on the companys Crackle.com video site in March, will air as a 90- minute film July 25 on Viacoms Spike TV, and a DVD will be in stores July 28, Eric Berger, who oversees digital networks at Sony Pictures Television, said in an interview two weeks ago.

To be profitable, the show must meet ratings expectations on Spike and sell well in stores, in addition to the ad sales on Crackle.com, Mr Berger said.

Sony, which spent about $1 million making Angel of Death, is developing a second season.

Episodes [of Angel of Death] have been shown 5 million times online since its release.

Angel of Death DVDs, priced at about $25, will be carried by retailers including Best Buy Stores and Target.

The movie was given a midnight time slot after editing for basic cable, John Griffin, who oversees acquisitions and programming at Spike, said last month in an interview.

sounds good to me, the ending of the first season seem to leave it open for more anyways

This is all news to me, I just watched the film, and loved it, but I had no idea it was originally a web series!

It certainly felt like a film, that's for sure. I love the comic-strip style video transitions.

I'm glad to hear there will be more to her story though. Bring it on.

I just watched the movie and I thought it was not good. But now knowing it was show it makes more sense.

you can also currently watch the full film version on hulu...and according to zoe's imdb page, there's a project titled "game of death" listed as "in post production". sounds like a sequel to me! yay stunts! yay fights! yay zoe!!

Actually, 'Game Of Death' is a new film. ZB will be acting in the role as the nurse.

SUMMARY:
A diplomat's bodyguard and company are injured in a botched assassination attempt. They're all taken to the same hospital, where the bodyguard teams up with a nurse to protect the diplomat from a team of ruthless assassins. The nurse soon learns that there is more to this sticky situation than expected.

Why would they make a second season of this embarrassing piece of trash. Please idiots of America do not promote this low grade programming.
