It's mostly wealthy kids pretending to be virtuous to get attention and be able to later claim "I fought for our planet!" (lol), while literally yelling at you for using airplanes.............. until Summer break when it's off again to Fuerteventura or the Caribbean with their SUV driving parents.

She's 18 and looks 11 while living in some dream world were she makes ludicrous demands to leaders of nations while she herself never lived a normal day in a normal life on this planet thanks to her sheltered upbringing.
She also unironically claims to be able to see CO² in the air.
Her "discovery" was not a coincidence, that becomes clear as soon as one starts digging just a bit on the surface, it was all a made up plan and it worked out flawlessly. Her parents just got richer due to her, and Greta will never have to work in her life.
I'd say "good for you", but I won't when this involves fooling other people to gain riches.
That's not what good people do.
However, I doubt Greta is aware of everything and does indeed believe the nonsense she parrots.
