What was the point of her character in TDKR?

I felt like her character was very random. Who was she? Selina's best friend, lover, sister?

I know right? I looked her up and she was basically supposed to be like Holly Robinson, who in the comics was Selina's best friend and they were prostitutes together. For some reason they changed her name to Jen for the movie and left out a lot of details about her, which made her just basically a random, pointless character. In my opinion they were better off not putting her in the movie at all.

I think they changed her name to Jen because she resembles Jennifer Lawrence.

Anne Hathaway is not really convincing as Catwoman, so they tried to amp up the cat factor by putting Juno Temple in it?

Yeah, I can see the resemblance between Newt and Juno.
