People complaining about people asking about ethnicity drive me insane

Seriously, some people are thinking about things too much. This needed it's own topic (although perhaps a more active board would work better). I realized how people over-react too much after reading the topic asking about her ethnicity.

There is NOTHING wrong with asking about someone's ethnicity if it's not done in a condescending or mean way. Honestly, I can't believe that anyone finds it offensive that people ask about ethnicities in completely innocent ways. Are you saying that we should just pretend that everyone is of the exact same ethnicity and never be able talk about our differences? That's ridiculous

Rant over for now...

haha, yeah, cuz all us Swedish girls hang out a Swedish cultural centers.

I agree with the OP, unless the person said something like "is she _____, because I bet she is because _____s all give good head." then what does it hurt to know. Same thing regarding any general question. Like when people ask if an actor is gay, you always hear people insinuating that we have no right to know. I guess we have no right to know if the person doesn't want anybody to know, but why can't we be curious? Someone's religion, sexuality, race... it makes them unique, and for the fans, sometimes brings them closer to the actor and more understanding of the choices they make.

In some cases like finding out your favorite actor is ______ can make you kinda wish they weren't. But we have a right to feel that way, because everybody has a right to have feelings and ideas.
