Yet Hollywood movies make way more worldwide. Just because China is the single biggest market doesn't mean Chinese movies make more money or are seen by more people than Hollywood ones. However, I am a Homg Kong film fan in the days before Hong Kong was given back to China and sadly since then the movie industry there is dying. China mainland movies might have much better production values these days but there are fewer great films made there now.

Donnie mentioned in his 2010 memoir: "The complexity of communication and everyone's cultural differences put a lot of constraints on me when I was acting as an action director. Hollywood’s martial arts stunt coordinators are like line dancers. They are at the mercy of the director when the action is designed. Every time I design an action, I have to get the approval of multiple supervisors then it gets modified. It is even more difficult. Compared with Hong Kong martial arts directors who are known as "action directors" and have to take care of filming work at the same time, the Hollywood system is a bit rigid. Many times I would rather observe the camera placement in private, and then instruct my assistant to secretly change my movements once or twice as necessary to match, to avoid the complicated process of communicating with the director."

He also wrote: "Working in Hollywood has been an eye-opener for me, but it has also been hampered by institutional issues. In fact, some systems in Hollywood are indeed a spectacle. For example, when actors are notified to enter the factory, assistant director A uses the intercom to call assistant director B, and then assistant director C. Then the actors are accompanied by more than a dozen bodyguards like the president on a tour. When I arrived, I didn’t know how much time was wasted in the process."
