Because Hollywood is different from Chinese Cinema. They won't allow him to be free and let him do want he wants. Hollywood is also a dirty business, so Donnie probably likes doing everything is China rather than have people control him.

Donnie yen turned down most of the roles he was offered in Hollywood cause they were not a big enough role he turned down expendables 2 so they got that Chinese girl that role was originally written for Donnie he's 52 years old and finally the best martial artist in the world is getting the long overdue attention he deserves Donnie beat out jet li Stephan chow Daniel wu and a whole bunch others for this Star Wars role and he has crouching tiger hidden dragon II as well I personally think Donnie is the closet thing to what Bruce lee might have turned out to be he has mastered so many styles it's crazy he has stayed in great shape as well so the world needs to get ready for Donnie Yen
