WHY DO PEOPLE HATE HIM?

I think he's rather handsome, sexy, and badass. He has an amazing voice. He has been in a couple of movies I didn't particularly enjoy, such as Terminator: Salvation and Avatar, but I found that the characters he portrays were the only likebale aspects and the thread that kept me watching those movies. I think he's awesome. I loved him in Clash of the Titans. He's so good-looking in a believeable, regular guy sort of way and maybe that's why he keeps getting big roles. He's not the kind of person who breeds fan girls with his looks because he has a deeper substance. God forbid Hollywood would want to give someone who is not a pretty boy like Brad Pitt EVERY ROLE. Sam is real, like a hot firefighter or a cop. That's why I enjoy him so much. And he is also quite a decent actor. Give it a rest, ok?

It seems you are more fascinated by his looks. I don't hate Sam Worthington, I mean what would be the point, I don't even know him. However, he is a very dull actor, with limited range, and he has yet to choose a film that is anything special, in fact most of the time his film's have been pretty bad. He has much work ahead of him if he is to be a movie star or a talented actor. I hope is able to do so, we could always use more talent, but I don't think Sam's the one.

I am not fascinated by his looks, but it seems that people think he is generic looking so I felt the need to comment on that as well. He is not that handsome. I also find Hayden Christiansen good looking and sexy but he is a terrible actor.

He. Looks. Like. A. Man.
Not some overexposed sissy, who spends more time at the hairdresser's and cosmetician's than I do.
Not some purdy boy who spends half of his lifetime in the gym, in the tanning bed, or shaving his chest.
And you know what? I like him. Because I like men who look like men. I know that not all the ladies like them like this, but - to each his - her own.
And I'll take this "generic looking man" over all the pretty guys out there.
Thank you.

THANK YOU MARTIPAWLIK! Thats exactly what I was trying to express, and you just put it into words! You are brilliant.

No offense, but he never really came off as masculine to me...just kind of boyish and aloof.

You mean you like men who look like APES. Which would've been perfectly alright, had you not bashed those who do not in the most pathetic, homophobic AND misogynistic manner you could think of. You know what? Keep your apes, I prefer humans - clean, well-smelling, well-groomed humans. Because I am not into bestiality, unlike you.

For Martipawlik: You are SO right! Plus, I don't think that James Cameron was in his best mood when he cast Sam in his precious Avatar. James Cameron saw that something he needed for the character of an ex-marine in a wheel-chair. I'll vote with Cameron for this choice. Sam portrayed the desperation as a trained star.

Another thing: I saw many despite actors just because they had the chance to go from zero to hero in just one movie. I think ordinary guys cannot accept that and identify themselves with that kind of star.
