He doesn't really look British

He looks like a cross betwen Antonio Banderas and Jean Claude Van Damme

Britain is a mixture of many different cultural backgrounds. Please tell me what "looks British". I'm half Swedish half Irish, thus I'm a typical example of a Briton; you know, diverse.
Seems to me as though you have a bit of an obsession regarding actors' racial backgrounds:
"Is Rodriguez a white guy?"
"Is Brittany Murphy part Latina?"
"Is Juliette Binoche part Arab?"
"Is so-and-so 'part white'?"
Does it really matter?

Apparently to many people it does matter. I intend to wear the subject out.

Oh for crying out loud. I'm a "smart ass"? I was just wondering what they meant by "looking British"? Sounds a little absurd to me. By the way, I assume you meant "know"..?

Diverse now maybe but this is something that has happened very recently (in historical terms). When one thinks of melting pots they don't equate that term to England or Sweden or Ireland. It's only large scale immigration over the last couple of decades that is starting to change the face of many countries. Although currently living in France I don't see it here.

A recent example for instance, Cary Fukunaga. No one realized he was Swedish and Japanese because typically those two countries don't really mix. I'm not up to date on Sweden's immigrant populations or Japan's, but I'm guessing this mix isn't typical in either country. Possibly it will be in 50 years? But anyhow he's technically American (having been born in California) so I guess you could just say he's typical American (since everyone in America is mixed).

But your argument null and voids itself when you complain about generalizations but then go on to generalize about Americans. Like putting out a fire with gasoline really. Being a Brit you should know the historical generalizations about your country. Hell I learned that quite quickly, and I only lived there for a year.

There is no "British look". You're just an ignorant deluded xenophobe like the original poster. Get over yourself.

Obviously you've never heard of "Anthropology", which studies genetic variation based on geography. Maybe you should take some uni classes so you don't make such idiotic comments about a subject you clearly know nothing about.

And maybe get over your reverse racism.

I don't think diversity is just recent, if you studied a bit of history and anthropology, you see many countries and ethnic groups are actually an amalgamation of different ancient people.

Celtic people for example are related to Spaniards (Galician), the Japanese with all their purity talk are made up of 3-4 ancient people in Asia, the Chinese are a combination of the Northern and Southern people, etc.

So the so-called Black Irish or dark Celtics like Catherine Zeta Jones is just a throwback to their original ancestry.
