Is he ever going to play against type?
I mean, come on. He's an actor. He should expand his range.

shareThe Civilization of Maxwell Bright (2005)
I almost stopped watching it twice but trudged on and am very grateful I did. Profound and soul searching.
We must have been watching a different movie.

I disagree. "Range" is overrated.
Others who should also not "play against type":
Groucho Marx
Harpo Marx
Buster Keaton
Charlie Chaplin
Jerry Seinfeld
Ben Stiller
Gene Wilder
Bill Murray
Chevy Chase
Rodney Dangerfield
Ted Knight (yeah...the cast of Caddyshack)
Eddie Murphy
Madeline Kahn
Richard Pryor
Lucille Ball
Jack Benny
Everyone in Monty Python
If you do something unique and better than anyone else on the planet can do it...I don't see the problem. No one else can do what Patrick Warburton does. He is unique. I don't want him wasting time doing something else when I could be getting more of that wonderful "Patrick Warburton" stuff. I always get that feeling when I see a comic "doing drama" to prove they can act (They always nail it too...comics can do drama without breaking a sweat). Jim Carrey is wasted in drama imo....he's great at it...but he'll be remembered for his comedy.

You would think he is capable of branching out, but I personally have never heard him do anything but his "Puddy".
Obviously he is getting a lot of steady work doing this persona, so he might as well strike while they still want him. But yeah, I am pretty tired of it, and it's not even amusing to me anymore.
