I think Marilyn of this group may be the best singer although Mamie is good too. Jean could not sing and didn't really tried, Jayne could sing somewhat but it was not one of her better talents. If you put Mae West in the group, I think she would be considered the best singing blonde bombshell.

I think Mamie pretty much likes all types of contemporary music. Her first husband Ray Anthony was a traditional pop music bandleader. She has recorded pop, rock, and country music at times and has sung all three types in movies as well. She also made a "dance" record in the 1980's.

I don't know if she will sing anymore - she is in her seventies now - but she was still singing in the 1980's in her concert act and possibly later.

Mamie looks BEYOND great :)
her voice sounds verry young
so if she tried ABSOLOUTELY she
could pull it off~

did she sing "girl who invented rock n roll"
and "boy catchers theme"????

I know she sang "Diamonds are a girls best friend"

Diana Dors is an EXCELLENT singer, pitch perfect. I doubt Mamie will do an album anytime soon. I know Rhino released a compilation album of Mamie's music years ago...you might try contacting Rhino Records.

There is a brand new Mae West CD out with bonus tracks by Diana Dors! Too bad they didn't add Mamie and Jayne as well instead of miscellaneous female singers of the past.
