Will Dems will try to impeach Trump for a third time?

You just know that sooner or later, the Dems will try their shenanigans to stop Trump's mandate. Since it's looking like the GOP will have control of the House, they're not going to be able to try to impeach him....yet. However, they'll probably try to persuade weak-kneed Republicans to join them in getting some investigations started, which eventually lead to impeachment if the Dems retake the House.

reply

No, nothing will happen at least until the mid-terms. Even if Democrats have full control over Congress after that, my guess is that they will have learned that those stunts can easily backfire on whoever attempts them. They certainly aren't going to find any "weak-kneed Republicans" to help them. They'll concentrate on finding a suitable candidate to run in 2028. I suspect there won't be any impeachment attempts against any presidents for the indefinite future.

reply

I agree. By mid term only 2 years are left. They can endure him for 2 more years.

They say never to underestimate your opponent, but I don't think Dems have really learned anything. They've got a PhD in how to double-down in calling people Not-C's, whining, crying, and scolding on TikTok videos, but thankfully the system isn't so completely corrupt as to float this idiotic party indefinitely (as I had feared after 2020).

reply

You really think they learned their lesson? Absolutely hilarious how every one of their dirty little tricks failed - they dragged this dude through the coals of hell and he still came out on top.

reply

Maybe they haven't learned it, I guess we'll see.

These are the same dipshits that would impeach someone just because they didn't like them, not because they committed any actual crime. There's a reason impeachments against Trump have come to nothing. It's all just political theater.

Plus, mom explained something very important to me as a kid when it comes to impeachments (and this was during Clinton's impeachment trials when the subject came up): Our government is NEVER gonna truly fire and throw out a sitting president, EVER. To do so in front of the whole world would indicate that we'd made a mistake by electing that person in the first place, and would humiliate America far worse than anything our worst presidents have ever done. They came very close with Nixon, but he resigned to save face for himself.

So for the most part, these impeachments are nothing more than a dog and pony show from Washington, as well as petty power plays that do nothing but get press attention for a while.

Our government is NEVER gonna truly fire and throw out a sitting president, EVER.

Even Andrew Johnson miraculously escaped that, and he wasn't popular with the powers that be.

reply

Like I said, it will never happen because of the fallout that would ensue with foreign relations. It would make America look far more unstable than it already is right now, and people overseas would worry about being able to trust us to keep up the deals we've made with our allies.

reply

Wait a second... In this case - and ONLY in this case - Americans care about their reputation in the world? That's kind of funny. I can think of some presidents worth to be fired right in the middle of their first term. But nobody did and they even got a second term...

reply

Agreed, the approval of the rest of the world will have nothing to do with it one way or the other.

Considering how stupid Europe is about how they run their countries in terms of freedom and independence, they don't have a leg to stand on. They throw people in jail over tweets online, they import rapists from the Middle-East and then protect them from people who complain when their women and kids get raped or assaulted, taxes over there are through the roof to support all those sand rats on welfare, they stupidly buy into what the WEF tells them about how nuclear power is "dangerous" and that crappy, ineffective alternate power is the way to go, and then freeze to death in the winter, their news networks lie as much as CNN does, or that the national health system they have is so much better than America when in fact people die waiting for treatments because there aren't enough doctors available--Europe is not better than America by a long shot.

reply

Trust me when I say this, nothing our worst presidents have done can compare to electing someone, and then publicly firing them. It's even worse for the party that the fired president would be associated with. Other countries can get away with it, but not America. There's a reason both Republicans and Democrats have fought tooth and nail to keep their candidate or person in office from being fired for real; to spare themselves humiliation.

So these little impeachment conflicts are little more than theater. And for the record, impeachment is not a firing, it's a formal accusation. It's not the same thing as removing someone from office.

reply

They are definitely already trying to find things to impeach him for. They don’t know what it will be but they will probably come up with something.

reply

Yeah, the Democrats realize that even if they don't have a legitimate charge against Trump, as long as they can launch an investigation they can dig around enough to find some sort of "crime" to pin on him or his associates.

However, this time might be different. Last time he was a newcomer and even some Republicans opposed him. This time, even Never Trumpers have to respect what Trump has done and understand that he's got the people behind him.

reply

They will focus group it and if they think it’ll benefit the party then yes they will try.

The entire party is focused on one thing and one thing only, power.

reply

There are no limits to what lunatic Democrats will try, if they think they can get away with it.
