“President Trump, I’m Daniel, and I’m 10, and I’m from Tennessee,” the boy said. “What was your favorite president when you were little?”
“So, I liked Ronald Reagan, Trump said of the president who was inaugurated when Trump was 34 years old. “I thought he was– look, I didn’t love his trade policy. I’m a very good trade– I’ve made some great trade deals for us.”
The former president then cited the 16th president.
“Lincoln was probably a great president,” he added. “Although, I’ve always said, why wasn’t that settled? You know? I’m a guy that– it doesn’t make sense. We had a Civil War.
“Well, half the country left before he got there,” Kilmeade said, noting that many slave states seceded to join the Confederacy by the time Lincoln took office in March 1861.
Trump has gone so far as to claim he was treated worse than any president in U.S. history, including the four presidents who were assassinated. Lincoln, who settled the Civil War by defeating the slaveholding Confederate states, was assassinated in 1865.
It is not funny that Trump does not appear to not know a f*cking thing at all about American history.
Why does Trump not understand that Reagan was president when he was an adult? Is he really clueless about Lincoln?
