Trump fined more than $350 million in New York business fraud case.

New York Attorney General Letitia James accused former President Donald Trump, his company and others of fraudulently inflating Trump’s assets to boost his net worth and get financial perks.
Manhattan Supreme Court Judge Arthur Engoron had found Trump and his co-defendants liable for fraud before the case went to trial.

Trump is the clear front-runner for the Republican presidential nomination, setting up a likely rematch with the great President Joe Biden.

I like it. Trump does not think Jews are loyal Americans. He tells them straight to their faces that they're loyal to Israel and not the United states. https://news.yahoo.com/trump-tells-american-jews-that-netanyahu-is-your-prime-minister-163333904.html

reply

Really? How many daggers do you have in your back?

reply

I was born in the richest most powerful country in the world, now it is a shell of its former self due crippling debt assumed while fighting jewish wars. My great-grandpa in the old country was richiest man in the village with 200 acres of good land and even owned the first tractor in the whole 10,000 person village. Jewish pushed communism took all that land and I was born poor with nothing. My birthright was taken away from me, but I didn't complain and bitch. I went out and took back what was owed for me. But it was a lot of work, stress, and countless sleepless nights. The dagger still sits deep in my back....

Can you be specific?

Oh vey goyum this hurts me more than you!! 🔪

So nothing you said was true?

The judge outlined several glaring disputes over Trump property values:

A 200-acre Westchester County property called Seven Springs LLC was appraised by Royal Bank of Pennsylvania in 2006 at $30 million if converted to residential homes. A Cushman & Wakefield appraiser estimated the value in 2014 at $30 million. Trump reported the value at $261 million to $291 million during that period.

Trump Park Avenue, a residential building, had rent-controlled apartments that Engoron ruled had been overvalued by 700%. Trump’s lawyers argued the units could eventually become market-rent units, but Engoron ruled the numbers are supposed to represent “current" values, not “someday, maybe” values.

A lease at 40 Wall St. in New York was appraised in 2010 by Cushman & Wakefield as worth $200 million. But the Trump Organization valued the property at $525 million in 2011 and at $735 million in 2015.

Mar-A-Lago, Trump’s Florida resort, had a market value ranging from $18 million to $27.6 million during the decade ending 2021, according to the Palm Beach County assessor. Trump valued the property at up to $612 million during that period.

Trump’s own apartment in Trump Tower is 10,996 square feet, but he submitted claims it was 30,000 square feet, according to Engoron. The difference resulting in an overvaluation of $114 million to $207 million, the judge wrote.

“A discrepancy of this order of magnitude by a real estate developer sizing up his own living space of decades, can only be considered fraud,” Engoron wrote of the Trump Tower apartment.

Trump is trying to convince people that he is a complete idiot. Not working.

Trump's penalty could cause NY biz exodus to FL, as New York State becomes 'legal banana republic': experts

I find it rather fascinating and hypocritical that no one and I mean, NO ONE had a problem with how Donald Trump of all people, ran his businesses for the last, what?? Almost 40 Years in NYC until 2024?? This whole thing reeks, BUT, it's over for New York and Trump simply relocates to Florida where they will more than welcome him and he simply starts over, especially his sons, Eric and Don Jr..

reply

Trump's businesses have been sued over 4,000 times. I would say that many people had problems with the way Trump ran his businesses. Don't put your head in the sand when it comes to Trump and his co-horts............

Are New York Democrats insane? (rhetorical) The more they bring up spurious charges against Trump the more popular he becomes. There was no aggrieved party, there was no complaints lodged by the financial institutions. The banks lent Trump money, he paid it back 100% with interest. Who here thinks the banks are so lax they would lend out millions of dollars without verifying the value of the collateral?

reply

He committed fraud. It's not a spurious charge. It's been proven in court. Stop lying to yourself.

reply

So what's the score card here?? Trump's lost $360 Million along with $83 Million to that money grubbing whore E.G Carroll and he's still a Billionaire with a Net worth of $2.1 Billion, so I'm not setting up the Go Fund Me Page just yet for Trump.. I'm sure he's smart enough to have $$$$$ transferred in off shore accounts that the Democrats can't get a hold of and in the end, he'll leave miserable NYC and head to greener pastures like St. Louis MO or Florida to start up his business Empire again.. Leticia James and Arthur Engoron really didn't win anything when you consider this??

reply

Don't forget 50 mil for legal fees thus far,but the biggest blow is to his massive yet fragile ego.

The MAGA morons don't care, they'll keep sending him their money.

Btw, his business empire will seek to exist when's he's jailed next year.

reply

How is it a blow to his Ego Zoomer?? How so?? Oh and a big whopping 50 Million in legal fees and he's STILL a Billionaire and you didn't break him and why?? Because he'll simply head to Florida or St.Louis and start all over again.. Trump will be fine.. You on the other hand WON'T

Why pay when he can get someone else to?

Can someone pay my rent for me? I can afford it, but I would rather someone else pay. LOL

reply

Why does Trump consistently ask his supporters for money if he's a billionaire? What a clown.

reply

Because his supporters such as myself recognize the ignorance of that fine when someone like O.J Simpson who lost in a Civil Trial in 1994 for nearly cutting off his ex-wife's head along with her boyfriend at the time didn't have to pay near as much to the Goldman family and that's REALLY putting it in perspective when an alleged murderer pays less than an individual charged with a victimless crime.. Welcome to the "O'Biden, Oprah #MeToo Justice System"

reply

So because someone else didn't get justice, Trump should be able to get away with fraud? That is disgusting.

DJT got caught like a TON of other Real Estate developers in NY. https://www.justsecurity.org/85605/survey-of-past-new-york-felony-prosecutions-for-falsifying-business-records/

Snippet just for you:
An individual is “guilty of falsifying business records in the second degree when, with intent to defraud, he:

1. makes or causes a false entry in the business records of an enterprise; or
alters, erases, obliterates, deletes, removes or destroys a true entry in the business records of an enterprise; or
2. omits to make a true entry in the business records of an enterprise in violation of a duty to do so which he knows to be imposed upon him by law or by the nature of his position; or
3. prevents the making of a true entry or causes the omission thereof in the business records of an enterprise.” N.Y. Penal Code § 175.05

"fraudulently inflating Trump’s assets to boost his net worth and get financial perks"

then what the hell will be the punishment be for some of the kardashian/jenner skanks......... one of them is claiming to be a billionaire. from selling cosmetics to young girls!! yeah right......

Complete BS.

reply

Is she claiming to be a billionaire on her taxes and using the financial perks to buy private jets and con people? Because if she is she should go to prison.

reply

Donald T IS a billionaire,
he does not need to lie about it.

"Forbes has estimated his wealth for decades and estimates it at $2.6 billion as of 2024"

reply

If he doesn't need to lie about it, why did he? He deliberately hired someone to overestimate his wealth. It's all in the discovery.

reply

then the bank should have verified that claim.

If you go down to your bank, don't you think they will check your assets before loaning you money......... you're goddamn right they will.

The Judge's opinion;
https://s3.documentcloud.org/documents/24432632/ny-state-trump-fraud-trial-verdict.pdf

Arthur F. Engoron, Justice
After presiding over a non-jury trial that began on October 2, 2023, and ended on December 13,
2023, with closing arguments on January 11, 2024, this Court makes the following findings of
fact and conclusions of law and issues this Decision and Order:
SUMMARY
Donald Trump and entities he controls own many valuable properties, including office buildings,
hotels, and golf courses. Acquiring and developing such properties required huge amounts of
cash. Accordingly, the entities borrowed from banks and other lenders. The lenders required
personal guarantees from Donald Trump, which were based on statements of financial condition
compiled by accountants that Donald Trump engaged. The accountants created these
“compilations” based on data submitted by the Trump entities. In order to borrow more and at
lower rates, defendants submitted blatantly false financial data to the accountants, resulting in
fraudulent financial statements.
When confronted at trial with the statements, defendants’ fact
and expert witnesses simply denied reality, and defendants failed to accept responsibility or to
impose internal controls to prevent future recurrences. As detailed herein, this Court now finds
defendants liable, continues the appointment of an Independent Monitor, orders the installation
of an Independent Director of Compliance, and limits defendants’ right to conduct business in
New York for a few years.

reply

As Elon said, who was damaged in the $350 million case?

Bank and Trump agreed on a value.

Loan was made.

Loan was paid back.

reply

So attempted crimes are okay then? Where do you draw the line? The law Trump was accused of violating does not require that there be a victim.

https://codes.findlaw.com/ny/executive-law/exc-sect-63/

The word “fraud” or “fraudulent” as used herein shall include any device, scheme or artifice to defraud and any deception, misrepresentation, concealment, suppression, false pretense, false promise or unconscionable contractual provisions.  The term “persistent fraud” or “illegality” as used herein shall include continuance or carrying on of any fraudulent or illegal act or conduct.

No victim required.

reply

Everyone was paid back, no one complained, all the interests was paid, and Trump prevailed/succeed in those business ventures.

No one testified against him and no one was defrauded, deceived and misrepresented and yet, it was a crime?

This was a perfect example of another witch-hunt trial by a corrupt judge.

This ruling is unenforceable, it has no plaintiffs and there is something called 'appeals'.

They will never see a penny of that. The corrupt judge wanted to be famous and made a ruling that will not stand.

They are not expecting Trump to pay any of it.
This was nothing more than an attempt to run down Trump with more proceedings and litigations as a method of election interference.

reply

I provided a link to the law. Perhaps you can get someone to explain it to you?

When a person misrepresents their worth to a lender or the IRS, then that is fraud. How is it you don't understand that?

Why do you think the government cannot enforce the ruling?

reply

Which part did you not understand about "no persons and no plaintiffs was defrauded."

Perhaps you can get someone to explain that to you?

reply

So? That was not a required element of the crime. Why are you claiming that there has to be a victim of fraud in order to commit fraud? The law makes it clear that deception is enough for the the low to be violated.

Why do you need a victim? Is it because Trump is a special little victim and cannot be held to the same standard as everyone else?

Would you settle for the IRS being the victim when they cannot collect the required tax on a piece of real estate because the owner undervalued it?

reply

Which part did you not understand about "no one was deceived."

Perhaps you can get someone to explain that to you?

reply

Simple misrepresentation is enough to be guilty. Here is a link to the law again. https://codes.findlaw.com/ny/executive-law/exc-sect-63/

Surely you don't think a 10,000 sq ft apartment is the same as a 30,000 sq ft apartment do you?

reply

Did any plaintiffs come forward and complain about been defrauded and/or deceived? Yes or No?

reply

Not that I'm aware of. Why do you think this was required? The law does not say it is required. Are you the judge now?

reply

Do you know why he lied about his wealth?
