Whether he was president for a minute or not, he is, and always was a tabloid personality. People like that capture attention regardless of the political or intellectual worth. He did study under Vince McMahon after all. This is what MAGA deplorables are seeing and they misinterpret it as "liberal tears" or some other such equally ridiculous thing. Nobody is traumitized by Trump. He is a court jester. The only reason he ever got headlines was the notion of how he subverted expectations about the behaviour of political figures. In case you need a reminder, though, if you are a conservative you are supposed to believe in smaller government. Unchecked celebrity leaders prone to scandal only enlarge the Executive office. You have made it easier for future presidents of a Democratic persausion to govern effectively, by Executive Order, even with a deadlocked Congress.

This is why Trump did not, and could not, win the 2020 election. How do you expect anyone to believe it would have needed to be rigged for Biden, when long-time Republicans are leaving the new MAGA GOP? It's YOUR party that's divided, and that spells electoral disaster. Paul Ryan, Kevin McCarthy, Romney, Cheney, Bush, McCain-type Republicans. These folks are in the Biden camp now. Evangelical Christians aren't gonna vote for the Stormy Daniels "john".

If you want to have a chance at a rebound, nominate Nikki Haley or Mike Pence.

MAGA are the sad clowns projecting their own snowflake attitude. They are still distressed about Obama, Hillary, Biden, Pelosi, and whoever else, and their statesmen-like legacies. They are trying to counter that by inflicting Dems with the same emotional turmoil in the ballot box. But it doesn't work like that. Hyper-partisanship is your thing. Crying in your beer is how you deal. The Democratic Party is focused on public service and policy... this isn't a sporting event.
